Google allows only the original reviewer to edit or update their own reviews, ensuring the authenticity and trustworthiness of customer feedback. Businesses and third parties cannot edit reviews left by customers but can respond or report inappropriate reviews for removal.


How to Edit or Update Your Google Review (For Reviewers)

On Desktop:

  1. Sign in to your Google account and open Google Maps.

  2. Click the menu (three horizontal lines) and go to Your contributions > Reviews.

  3. Find the review you want to update and click the three-dot menu next to it.

  4. Select “Edit review”.

  5. Adjust the star rating, text, add photos or videos as needed.

  6. Click “Post” to save changes.​

On Mobile (Google Maps App for iOS & Android):

  1. Open Google Maps and tap your profile picture.

  2. Select Your contributions > Reviews.

  3. Find the review and tap the three dots or "More" button.

  4. Tap Edit review.

  5. Make your desired changes and save by tapping Post.​
